The stress-magnetism effect is a fundamental principle in metal magnetic memory testing technology, which is also a key issue in the life assessment of ferromagnetic materials. Curves of magnetising status versus stress in different environmental magnetic fields were studied for 20 steel ferromagnetic specimens. It was found that influences of the environmental magnetic field on the stress-magnetism effect were very obvious. It shows that testing and estimating of metal magnetic memory testing technology is related to the geomagnetic field.
