Structural Fragments in Protein Model Refinement

Abstract:We survey a method that uses patterns of residue packing in known protein structures to refine structural models. The method can be used to refine models that include only one coordinate point per residue (Cα) and is not dependent on homology. We demonstrate that the method improves both decoy and CASP7 target models.
