Abstract:
Metabolic syndrome represents a constellation of symptoms that includes abdominal obesity, lipid abnormalities, and elevated serum glucose. Given that metabolic syndrome affects a high percentage of women and is a risk factor for future cardiovascular disease, gynecologists are in a unique position to recognize and provide initial management for affected patients.
