Abstract:

Syntheses of 2-alkylideneaziridines and 2-alkylideneazetidines are reviewed. Since their increasing availability, these strained cyclic enamines, 2-alkylideneaziridines in particular, are used in several ring expansion and ring opening reactions. In addition, their use in organic chemistry will be covered.
