Abstract:

The application of stabilized metal carbenes as reactive intermediates in synthesis has greatly expanded because of the wide array of structures that are available from these reactions. In order to expand the usefulness of these reactions, several investigators have focused on the development of chiral catalysts that cab effect asymmetric carbene reactions. This review will cover the development and application of these catalysts.
