Abstract:

As a new mode of development in the mountainous areas in Beijing, the Valley Economy has attracted common attention of the government, farmers and scholars. Agro-forestry operation is booming as an option of business patterns in the suburbs of Beijing. However, farmers do not have sufficient knowledge of operations. There is not much practical guiding reference in regards to the choice of modes of different land use and operations. In order to provide direct, effective and practical guidelines for the practice of farmers, this paper develops and applies the Hartman Model so as to provide farmers with theoretical support and assistance in operating decisions.
