Electrochemical Methods of Carbamazepine Determination
Abstract:Glassy carbon (GCE), screen-printed carbon (SPCE) and silver nanoparticle-modified carbon screen-printed (AgNPs/SPCE) electrodes are assessed in the determination of carbamazepine (CBZ) using the oxidation signal obtained from differential-pulse adsorptive stripping voltammetry (DPAdSV). Amperometric analysis of CBZ was also performed using an electrochemical biosensor based on the immobilization of the enzyme horseradish peroxidase (HRP) on a SPCE. The best detection limit (0.938 ± 0.006 μM) was obtained by using the AgNPs/SPCE. But the best selectivity was obtained with the HRP based electrode. The AgNPs/SPCE and the HRP-based SPCE developed in this work were successfully applied to CBZ determination in pharmaceutical preparations. Interferences of other antiepileptic pharmaceuticals as Phenitoin and Phenobarbital on CBZ measurement were also studied.
