Optimization of Magnetoelastic Temperature Sensor Based on Multilayer Microwires

The aim of this work is the study of multilayer microwires as sensor element to improve its response against small temperature change. The measurement technique of the sensor device is based on the MSAMR (Modified small angle magnetization rotation) method, where the AC current flows through the saturated soft magnetic nucleus and forcing it to oscillate. The hard magnetic outer shell is separated from the nucleus by means of an intermediate glass-layer. The sensor response proved to be very sensitive to changes in the hard phase thickness.
