Anodic stripping voltammetry using bismuth- (BiFE) and antimony-film electrode (SbFE) was applied to the determination of tin ion (Sn2+) in the presence of cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB). Several experimental parameters such as composition of supporting electrolyte, concentration of CTAB, accumulation potential and time were optimized to achieve the best sensitivity and selectivity. A linear response was obtained over the concentration range 10–150 and 10–120 g/L for the BiFE and SbFE, respectively. The lower detection limits of the BiFE and SbFE were 0.26 and 0.50 g/L for Sn2+. These electrodes can be successfully applied to the determination of Sn2+ in canned fruit juices.
