Abstract:

The paper presents a gas distribution control system, built using the inductive transducers (flow rate transducers and flow meters for gases) with magnetic fluid. The sensing unit of these designs has not moving solid mechanical components, but exploits the properties of magnetic fluid. We demonstrated the possibility of using these transducers in a N + 1 flow meters network for gases, controlled by computer. Every N flow meters (customer flow meters) of closed range are supervised by another flow meter (supervisor flow meter) of higher range. The software of this structure can warn about any gases leakage in the network. The paper investigates the possibility to use (in such a flow meters network) flow rate transducers having linear reply time.
