Abstract:

Power dissipation has become a critical parameter in modern VLSI design field. Power management is an effective system-level method to control and reduce power dissipation in practice. However, traditional power management policies failed to explore the full potential of power management. Therefore, performing highly effective power dissipation saving through these policies is impossible. In this work, a novel power management system cooperating with compiler is presented. By exchanging useful information between compiler and power management system, this power management system can achieve better power dissipation saving.
