Effects of Magnetic Fields on the Synchronization of Calcium Oscillations in Coupled Cells
Based on the model of the two calcium stores developed by Goldbeter, the effects of coupling strength and agonist stimulation on the synchronization of calcium oscillations in the presence of magnetic fields have been discussed. It is shown that calcium oscillations can be induced in
the unstimulated cell by external magnetic fields. The well synchronization of calcium oscillations in coupled cells will appear when the coupling strength is strong enough. It is found that the pattern and frequency of calcium oscillations in the presence of magnetic fields are different
from the absence of magnetic fields.
