Abstract:

We briefly report our recent effort on the conduction properties of single molecular double-stranded DNA. We use a simple model to calculate the electrostatic potential drop along an individual DNA molecule between the contacts in DC IV characteristic experiments. The differential conductance is obtained analytically. The calculated effect of potential drop to IV characteristic is in good agreement with recent experiments.
