Abstract:

A simple and economical method was introduced to prepare water-soluble quantum dots (QDs) based on forming stable and biocompatible micelles. The as-synthesized water-soluble QDs retained the original optical properties, such as the same absorption and emission spectra as well as the same quantum efficiency. The water-soluble QDs were active in bioconjugation; the QD-antibody bioconjugates were good for targeting.
