The effects of imposing ultrasound in the process of gel formation on properties of synthetic zeolite 4A were investigated. Ultrasound influence of enhancing reaction condition in the synthesis gel could be attributed to the phenomena of cavitation, or acoustic streaming. The effect on the morphology, size and properties of the crystals was determined in the synthesis gel by introducing ultrasound. Size of crystal particles becomes smaller and the diameters are about 2 μm, the classic cubic morphology of the zeolite 4A crystals changes into cubes with beveled edged; and the collapse temperatures of the crystal lattice of the zeolite 4A is 805.6 °C, which is lower ∼80 °C than that of the conventional preparation. The calcium exchange capacity of zeolite 4A reaches to 401 mg CaCO3/g (higher than ∼20 mg CaCO3/g of classic sample).
