Finite Element Analysis of Measuring Soil Static Resistance by High Strain Dynamic Test

Abstract:

Soil Static resistance on pile is an important parameter to choose pile hammer and determine bearing capacity of pile. On the base of considering interaction between pile and soil, it uses the penalty function method to treat the contact during pile driving, establishes the finite element analysis model of measuring soil static resistance by high strain dynamic test method to simulate the whole measuring test. The results show that the relative error of static resistance between emulated results and measured results is 1.76% the emulated results agree with the measured ones basically. This method makes the soil static resistance to be available through analysis of geological data and avoids long and hard dynamic measuring test, which also offers guidance of how to select pile hammer or adjust parameters of pile hammer according to geological data of soil.
