Continuous Bayesian Reliability Demonstration Test Method for Safety Critical Software

Abstract:

The classic software reliability demonstration test (SRDT) takes no consideration of prior knowledge and priori distribution adequately, which causes overly cost of work and resource. A new improved Bayesian based SRDT method has been proposed. First a framework for continuous Bayesian SRDT scheme has been constructed. Based on the framework the decreasing function has been employed to construct the priori distribution density functions for continuous safety-critical software, and then continuous Bayesian software demonstration function (CBSDF) scheme has been presented. A set of comparative experiments have been carried out on several published data sets. The experimental results reveal that CBSDF scheme is more efficient and applicable especially for the safety-critical software with high reliability requirements.
