Abstract:

This paper obtains the exact 1-soliton solution of the nonlinear Schrödinger's equation in 1+2 dimensions. Both the Kerr law as well as the power law nonlinearity are considered in this paper. The technique that will be used in this paper to integrate the equation is far less involved than the inverse scattering transform.
