American Society of Naval Engineers
Since 1888, the American Society of Naval Engineers has served the naval engineering career and profession as a non-profit organization. The Naval Engineers Journal (NEJ) and the hosting of national/local meetings and symposia have kept members and attendees current with new naval engineering developments, preparing them for the future. The Society provides a forum for direct communication between government engineers, both civilian and military, industry engineers, shipbuilders, operators, and suppliers of related naval engineering services and equipment.
The NEJ is the oldest American publication in its field. Since 1889, it has been informing members and subscribers of developments in the full range of naval engineering technologies and activities. It has kept, all that have read it, abreast of developments in their own and related fields by providing a means for cross communication and mutual understanding. It also provides a means by which authors and presenters can show the results of their respective products, services, and accomplishments to the naval engineering community.
Currently, the NEJ is a quarterly publication where technical papers are peer reviewed that presents the latest in research and technology in the naval engineering. It is a leading source of information on the full range of naval engineering subjects and provides a prestigious forum for authors to publish their work for further use by members and subscribers. Naval engineering includes the related arts, sciences and use of technology in the design, systems integration, interoperability, construction, operation, maintenance, disposal and logistics support to ships, submarines, aircraft, small boats and craft, and vehicles.
