Prolonged urinary drainage from nephrostomy tract after percutaneous nephrolithotomy can be treated with oral desmopressin

Abstract:
Desmopressin has been used in the treatment of nocturnal polyuria, diabetes insipitus and primary nocturnal enuresis. We present a patient who experienced prolonged urinary drainage after percutaneous nephrolithotomy but did not respond to insertion of a double pig-tail stent and was treated instead with oral desmopressin.Keywords: desmopressin; percutaneous nephrolithotomy; prolonged urinary drainage
