Abstract:

It was at the ASME, IMEC&E (International Mechanical Engineering Congress and Exhibition) in November 1995, in San Francisco, that Professor Charles Dalton and I first discussed the recent, sad news of the untimely death of our friend and colleague, Owen Griffin-I, poignantly, because of unfinished business related to Owen's paper-reviewing for JFS, passed on to his colleague, Dr Henry Wang.
