Abstract:

Conti et al. defined a two-variable polynomial associated with any rooted tree. In this paper we give an explicit combinatorial interpretation of the coefficients of this polynomial. In order to do this we introduce a special class of subtrees which seem to have never been considered before in the literature. Copyright 2002 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
