In this model, students are assigned various roles to gain a deeper understanding of the sport or activity. This article provides a brief overview of the SEM and presents suggestions and examples of how the student roles in the SEM can be adapted to meet the needs of students with disabilities. “Low-impact” and “high-impact” modifications for children with disabilities are introduced to demonstrate the contribution of children with disabilities to a team's overall success.
