Programs must submit a description of the assessment, the scoring rubric used to judge the assessment, and candidate performance data derived by using the rubric. This article discusses selection of the assessments and offers suggestions for developing the accompanying rubrics. It shows how the eight assessments can be used to address all ten of the NASPE standards. More specifically, the article explains what each assessment should include and how the information can be used to support the standards. The article concludes with a discussion of the criteria that reviewers use to determine whether the assessments are sufficiently complex and rigorous and how universities and colleges can select documents that best represent their teacher preparation programs.", pages = "1-58", url = "http://www.ingentaconnect.com/content/aahperd/joperd/2006/00000077/00000002/art00009" }
