Open Access Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile - the creation of an innovation ecosystem within the university and supporting research and technology transfer with a global impact.

Having been in existence for more than a century, Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile is a leader in research that is focused on developing new knowledge, enabling the next generation of researchers to continue the work of generations before. The articles published in prestigious science journals, coupled with the excellence of its PhD programmes and the concentrated efforts to pass the knowledge garnered on to wider society are hallmarks of University's qualities, and distinguish it across the world. Although there are several key research themes at the University, in recent times particular attention has been paid to agriculture, biomedical and industrial research programmes. This has culminated in more than 200 projects across the three research areas, featuring the involvement of over 130 researchers. The Office of Technology Transfer belonging to the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile's Vice Presidency for Research, is in charge of promoting applied research, managing the identification, protection and subsequent transfer of research outcomes that is carried out at Universidad Católica. Their mission is to promote the transfer of research outcomes carried out at the University, aiming to contribute to the economic and social development of Chile and the world. They want to be leaders and referents in Latin America in transfer and development.
