Blumea is a botanical journal devoted to taxonomy, biogeography, morphology, anatomy and ecology of phanerogams and cryptogams (excluding Fungi). Geographically it covers Southeast Asia, Africa south of the Sahara (excluding South Africa) and South America, especially the Guianas. Starting in 1934 and briefly interrupted during World War II Blumea is now (2007) publishing its 52nd volume. Papers in Blumea are subjected to peer review and are in English. Blumea is published three times a year, comprising c. 600 pages in total.

Blumea has also its own Supplement Series, in which mainly PhD theses and Regional plant Checklists are published.
